David Lorber

MD, FCCP

Dr. Lorber is a board-certified pulmonologist and internist. Previously, he served as Vice President, Clinical Affairs for Walgreen Co, headquartered in Deerfield, Illinois. He also worked at CVS Caremark as Vice President of Medical Affairs.

David Lorber, MD previously served as Vice President, Clinical Affairs for Walgreen Co, headquartered in Deerfield, Illinois. Dr. Lorber lead his team to provide clinical expertise in disease states and evolving medical areas including government programs, for the needs of Walgreens’ customers to address high cost conditions in growing populations, and support improvement of clinical and financial outcomes.  

In his previous role at CVS Caremark, Dr. Lorber served as Vice President of Medical Affairs. He was responsible for the development and implementation of formulary and clinical programs for their Medicare PDP that grew from no enrollees in 2005 to over 1.5 million enrollees in 2010. Other responsibilities included clinical support of the sales and accounts teams, development of utilization management strategies for specialty drugs, support for e-prescribing and e-business initiatives, and support of government relation initiatives.

Dr. Lorber is a member of the USP Pulmonology Expert, Therapeutic Decision Making Expert Committees, and the Medicare Model Guidelines Committee.  He recently served on the Stakeholder’s Committee for AHRQ (Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality) and the Medical Advisory Board of the National Rural Electrical Cooperatives.  Dr. Lorber has a BA in Biology with distinction from The University of Virginia, and an MD from the Medical College of Virginia.  He is a board-certified internist and pulmonologist.
